How does Acupuncture work?

Acupuncture is an ancient medicine which is a part of Chinese Medicine. It has been developing over thousands of years while retaining clinically effective methods and knowledge. Due to it’s unique approach to human physiology, Acupuncture is effective in treating a vast variety of conditions.

Acupuncture utilizes a network of energy pathways that flow between the bodily tissues. This network of pathways or ‘Meridians’ is as divers as the network of blood vessels and capillaries in your body. It reaches everywhere. Each pathway is related to an organ/ tissue or function in the body. These pathways/spaces are not completely empty, they carry bodily fluids.

Along those pathways there are key points. Each point has its own quality functions and wisdom. By needling the points with very fine needles, we offer a new signal, a new idea to the body.

These new signals start an energetic change which transforms the bodies current pattern of sickness into a healthy one.

The change is facilitated and begins in the spaces – the ‘nothing’ in the body.

For example, if the body has a pattern/habit of inflammation in an organ or tissue (which is a cellular pattern as well as mental and emotional), using the correct points can offer the idea or signal of coolness to that tissue and begin a new healthy cellular pattern that can resolve the inflammation. The right conditions are created to support the bodies innate ability to heal.
